Dirty Duck restaurant n Bali Coffee Luwak

UBUD - Dirty Duck Restaurant.
Going into UBUD at the foothill of the central mountain range, this area presents yet another nostalgic feeling of peace and calm amidst many temples and creative souvenir shop houses and restaurant. Sculptures along the road and bamboo poles placed alongside roads and side lanes for worship purposes are in abundance. " Bebek Bengil " or Dirty Duck restaurant is snug right into a padi plantation which provides very good food. Pondoks and special Balinese style housing and sitting arrangements for one to choose and saviour made the dining experience that much more interesting. Story had it that the restaurant got its name , Bebek Bengil " when a flock of dirty ducks waddle into the restaurant just before it was ready and when the owner was trying to find a suitable name.

Luawk Coffee
There are so many interesting places to visit UBUD, one may have to take several days to do so. Ubud is now popularly joined by her neighbours of Campuan, Penestanuan, Padangtegal and a few others. Bustling market places like Monkey Forest and Pasar Seni for the ladies, wood carvings for those who wish to decorate their homes, we decided instead to visit Bali Coffee plantation which boasts of Coffee Luawk. This coffee comes from the vowel of a type of musang called " Luawk ". The animal only eats coffee seeds and those that are not digested as seen from their vowels are then chosen , washed and processed. It has a very special taste . Costing about rp 600,000 per kilo ( US $50 ), this is expensive coffee. Pic shows the plantation, coffee seeds and the souvenir shop selling different products including Coffee Luawk and Bali coffee.
