From Temburong to Mt Kinabalu

2nd Blog - Day 3 Temburong / Lawas /Kota Kinabalu

Details of Temburong town and Lawas New and Temporary Immigration and Custom Posts cannot be uploaded. Details -- akan datang.

Passing Lawas immigration posts between Sabah and Sarawak was something unique . We have to go thru both the Sabah and Sarawak Immigrations which was 10m apart, and opposite to each other. Once into Lawas, we tried exploring the wet market and ended with Rambutans, Langsat at RM $2/kg. Durians were extremely tempting, but we were both nursing a slight cough.

KK By Night. 17 Oct being a sat night, the waterfront was bursting with activities. We tried the seafood which was highly recommended. For RRM$160 we had 1 kg of crabs, 1kg of large shells, a live fish steamed teochew style, plate of vege and fried beehoon. Han Tong and Yen Ching came for a drink to our hotel . They were presently surprised that we had very good bargains. With their vast experiences on Sabah, Neo Chian and I were briefed on various options to take to explore Sabah. And also to take a shorter return route, adventurous perhaps, on our return journey after visiting Mt Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau. The highlights seems interesting including visiting the Turtle island off Sandakan , the Orang Hutan forested area and the National agricultural centre .

Kota Kinabalu Town. Breakfast with the Ration King ,Han Tong
and his lvely wife Yeng Ching can never go wrong. Authentic " Ko Loh Mien " Hakka style. Fish porridge , Sabah Kopi Oh. Neo chian wants it "Kao " to compare to Ya Khun was spontaneously obliged.

SABAH National and Heritage Museum. Unfortunately no photographs are allowed in the meseum proper. It was culturally enriching and they have one section showing past burials on earthern jars which were buried on hill slopes like the hanging coffins in China. The Heritage centre with pictures below showcase long houses of 8 different ethnic groups

Sunset On Mt Kinabalu. Upon arrival at Mt Kinabalu Resort and Spa we were fortunate to see the Sun setting.

Chalet at the Resort. Surrounded by large Pine trees, the air was really cool and the Qi was really strong. Fantastic place for family and retreat

Just before we arrive at the resort around 5.30pm

Sunset 6.15 to 6.30pm was really captivating. Ideal for professional photography. will share the rest of pictures at later dates.
